2010 honda insight review and photos gallery

The all-new 2010 Honda Insight hybrid hatchback goes on sale on Earth Day, which is April 22, with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $23,900 for the Insight LX.

The 5-passenger, 5-door hybrid vehicle is powered by an Integrated Motor Assist system comprised of a
1.3L i-VTEC gasoline engine and a 10-kilowatt electric motor that together contribute to a Transport Canada fuel economy rating of 4.8 L/100 km (city) and 4.5 L/100 km (highway).

The Insight features the Ecological Drive Assist System, which is an innovation that can further enhance efficient vehicle operation while providing feedback related to individual driving styles.

"Honda Insight is designed to bring hybrid technology within closer reach for many new car buyers in Canada with its affordable pricing," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc. "In addition to making sound environmental sense with higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions, hybrid technology is now entering an era where it can also make financial sense for a broader range of customers."

A premium version of the Insight is also available. The Insight EX, with an MSRP of $27,500, adds Honda's Satellite-Linked Navigation System with Bilingual Voice Recognition; Vehicle Stability Assist; Bluetooth HandsFreeLink; alloy wheels; steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters; an upgraded audio system with six speakers; USB audio interface; a centre console with armrest and storage compartment; heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals; and more.

2011 Honda CRZ Hybrid Cars Wallpapers

Honda's CR-Z hybrid coupe remains on track as a 2011 model, on sale in late 2010. Honda wants sports-car enthusiasts to buy it not because it's green, but because it's fun. The carmaker considered doing a non-hybrid version of the CR-Z, but it desperately wants to be seen as a hybrid supplier on par with Toyota and believes it needs a range of dedicated hybrid-only models to achieve that.

So the CR-Z gets a lively 140-horse, 1.8-liter Civic-derived engine. The IMA system -- motor, battery, electronics -- will be like the Insight's, as will the platform, to save cost. A senior engineer says, "It must be fun to drive, must remind you of the original CRX." And a manual gearbox will be offered. "CVT is fine for the market, mostly. But we are Honda! We must have a manual!"

Honda RC51 V-Twin 999cc Engine, Hawk 3-Wheeler

Honda RC51 V-Twin 999cc Engine, Hawk 3-Wheeler looks like Batmobile Meets Rocket :
There are quite a few three-wheelers these days: Aptera, Myers Motors and ZAP! Motors. And while those companies seem to be blocked from government funding, it isn’t stopping designers like 22-year-old Alex Hodge from New Zealand from churning out kickass mods like the Hawk.

The Hawk concept is part fighter jet, part sports car, and looks like it’s balls-out fun! The concept is built around the 999cc Honda RC51 V-twin engine has 10,000 rpm, 120 hp and a top speed of 144 mph.It has a fiberglass body with a pod-style cab, comes trimmed in lightweight plastics and leather. And it all rides on 19-inch alloyed wheels equipped with twin rear and front disc brakes. Oh, and did you look at the pictures…it’s freakin hot!

But here’s the half empty, you Batman-a-bes won’t be seeing this concept anytime soon. Sorry. Have to save the mantyhose for another day.
