2010 Dacia Duster Trophee Andros
Dacia has chosen to base its challenge in the 2009/2010 Trophée Andros ice-racing season on the so-called ‘Silhouette’ category. All the circuits visited by the Trophée Andros put reliability to the ultimate test, and this will give Dacia a chance to showcase the fact that robustness forms an integral part of the brand’s DNA. The discipline also places a cap on excessively complex and costly technical solutions, while the chassis, gearbox and tyres, for example, are all carefully governed by the regulations, forcing teams to explore simple, ingenious solutions, an approach which totally fits the Dacia spirit.
The competition version of Dacia Duster has benefited extensively from the motorsport expertise of Renault Sport Technologies. Its glass-fibre body conceals a tubular chassis which houses a three-litre, 24-valve V6 engine from the Renault-Nissan Alliance range. This powerplant has been carefully tuned in order to optimise its performance potential at the high altitudes at which the races will be held. It delivers peak power of 350hp at 7,500rpm and maximum torque of 360Nm at 5,500rpm. The six-speed sequential gearbox ensures fast, precise gearshifts, even when drifting through corners at full speed. The mid-engined layout offers perfect weight distribution, whilst the low centre of gravity ensures enhanced control.

CHICHESTER, UK — Tesla Motors (TSLA) will unveil its next-generation sports car to the public this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The latest version of revolutionary electric sports car, Tesla Roadster 2.5.
The Festival of Speed is the world's largest motoring garden party - a unique weekend that brings together a heady mix of cars, stars and motor sport 'royalty' to create the largest car culture festival worldwide. Held in the immaculate grounds of Goodwood House, this annual hill-climb extravaganza celebrates all things automotive.
Its two newest Tesla Stores–in Newport Beach, California, and Copenhagen, Denmark–will open with evening receptions. Both will have the Roadster 2.5 on display. The 2011 Tesla Roadster 2.5 features improvements in design and technology, including a new front fascia, rear diffuser, improved seat comfort, sound dampening and an optional large touch screen navigation system with back-up camera.
Inside, the most significant alteration is undoubtedly more comfortable seats, which have larger bolsters and now include a lumbar support system. Interior noise has been reduced in several ways, including new sound-suppressing front fender liners.
Finally, Tesla has further modified the Roadster’s power-control system, adding unspecified hardware to permit “spirited driving” (which we presume means maximum electric power) in exceptionally hot climates.
Prospective customers can see the Tesla Roadster 2.5 at Goodwood or at the London showroom at 49-51 Cheval Place in Knightsbridge, near Harrod’s. Tesla is now delivering this latest version of the car in all Tesla markets in Europe, Asia and North America.

Sasha calls himself 'the angry car designer' for some reason, and has no time for fools. A pure conceptual study for a top-end Ferrari, possibly a future generation of the 612 Scaglietti, Selipanov design proposal appears to borrow bits and pieces from certain supercars like the Aston Martin One-77 as well as Maranello’s own 458 Italia.
The Ferrari 612 GTO concept is the work of Sasha Selipanov, an extremely talented, and also incredibly irate, automotive designer based in Berlin, Germany.
The 612 GTO concept is a proposal for the next generation 612 Scaglietti, but with a high-performance GTO twist and completely revised aesthetics. Sasha calls himself 'the angry car designer' for some reason, and has no time for fools.
For the 612 GTO concept Sasha has used influences from the classic Ferrari 250 GTO - which is evident in the triple air intakes molded into the hood.

Here is a Bugatti Concept Car – Bugatti Type 12-2. Racer X has lifted the covers on a new concept vehicle they are calling the Bugatti Type 12-2 concept car which is highlighted by ample storage space and new practical designs. Bugatti is a most famous sports car manufacture, so it is just about power, speed, luxury and everything, designed especially for those who love speed, comfort and style.
Bugatti Type 12-2 concept has been created as a 2+2 sports GT for the Bugatti brand. it is not intended for production. Designed as an example of a luxurious four seater GT, the type 12-2 is the artwork of Reuben Zammit.
The idea is to use a VW derived W12 engine with a twin turbo layout hence the name 12-2. Although not as extravagant as the W16 used in the Veyron, there would be enough power to propel the Type 12-2 to over 200 mph. Every time it competed with 4 different demo cars in 2 different classes for bodystyling.
On the subject of performance, things get considerably more hypothetical. This being purely a design study (and not even a Bugatti-commissioned one) any power-train speculation should be taken with more than a few grains of salt. Racer X's specified FR configuration seems to eliminate the Veyron's all-wheel drive, quad-turbo W-16 configuration. Meanwhile, the name "12-2" seems to hint at a 12-cylinder mill sleeping beneath the coupe's hood.

With the new 458 Challenge, Ferrari is offering its sportier clients - professional and gentlemen drivers alike - a car that is extremely responsive, with great performance and superb handling. The Ferrari 458 Challenge introduces a number of important modifications to adapt it for competition use. Proton-owned and British-based sports car maker Lotus has announced the Evora Type 124 Endurance Racecar (pronounced One Twenty Four). Based on the Evora road car, it is powered by a mid-mounted Toyota V6 powerplant. The engine is race-tuned and can output over 400PS, depending on race regulations. The power unit is linked to a 6 speed sequential transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. It can weigh less than 1,200 kg, again depending on race regulations, thanks to an aluminium chassis, very strong lightweight forged aluminium wishbones and lightweight composite and carbon fiber panels.

Suspected car bomb found in Times Square
Police evacuated part of Times Square after finding a suspected car bomb in the busy midtown Manhattan district Saturday night, media reports said.
Officials said it was not considered to be a terrorist threat, and New York City police reportedly asked federal authorities to stand down.
The New York Times quoted an explosives' expert saying it was an improvised device using propane cylinders and powder, but the ignition source 'failed to function the main charge'.
Kevin Barry, a former supervisor in the New York City police bomb squad, speculated that if it had functioned 'it would be more of an incendiary event' than an explosion, the Times reported.
The explosive materials were discovered about 6.30 p.m. by a mounted police officer who saw a box with smoke pouring from it in the back of a Nissan Pathfinder, officials said.

German car exports up by nearly half in May
An industry group says German car exports saw another strong year-on-year rise in May _ increasing by nearly half as global demand recovers.
The VDA group said Wednesday that Germany exported 367,700 cars last month _ an increase of 46 percent compared with May 2009. That followed a 58 percent rise in April.
Sales in Germany itself have been slipping in year-on-year terms for months after a popular government car-scrapping program expired.
That trend continued in May. Some 252,800 new cars were registered in Germany _ 34 percent fewer than a year earlier. They were down nearly 32 percent in April.
VDA said the healthy export performance helped push up production _ which rose 10 percent on the year to 470,100.

Peugeot 3008 Crossover
Peugeot has released the first official photos and details of the all-new 3008 compact crossover. The five-seater 3008 is more of a pug than a stud – at slightest in what concerns its exterior styling.
Peugeot officials said that it is positioned “at the crossroads between numerous free vehicles like the SUV, the MPV and track.” Something like an automotive varied grille in other language. 2010 Noble Supercar M600 The British Sports Cars
Here is a new supercar, aimed at the top of the market sector with sensational performance. And it comes from a company with an established record for fast fine-handling cars. That sums up the Noble M600. Noble has released the first images and details of its latest supercar, new M600 supercar. The M600 - built as a purist's car - features very little in the way of Ferrari-like computer control, with the main driver-assist system being a switchable traction control, deactivated via missile-launch-like switch labeled simply 'TC'. There is no ESP, and no anti-lock brakes.
Boasting generic supercar styling, the M600 is powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter Volvo V8. While it's odd hearing "Volvo" and "supercar" in the same sentence, the M600 is anything but Volvo-like. Packing 650 bhp, the car accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.0 seconds, 0-100 mph in around 6.5 seconds, and tops out at 225 mph.
To keep things under control, the driver has a choice of three power levels. At the twist of a dial, outputs of 335kW, 410kW and 485kW are available. At the highest power setting, the M600 develops 820Nm of torque. A six-speed Graziano manual transmission is responsible for delivering power from the twin-turbocharged V8 to the rear wheels.
Featuring fixed-rate dampers and steering, along with Alcon brakes - with iron discs and limited servo assistance for increased feedback and ease of modulation - the M600 has been developed with an almost archaic sensibility.
